Who this is for

This course will help you if…

  • You have a SaaS idea and have not started, and you want to understand before you put time and money in.
  • You have just started your company and you are making pricing, product and sales decisions you are not sure about.
  • You are a student or recent graduate who wants to start a company or work in a SaaS company.
  • You work in a SaaS company, in sales, marketing, product or operations, and you want to see how the whole business runs, not only your part.

Honestly, it may be too basic if…

You already run a SaaS company with steady revenue and need to grow it. Talk to me instead and we will see how to work together.

What you will know after four sessions

The examples all come from us. We follow one SaaS company, with numbers in Egyptian pounds, from the first session to the last, and you calculate the MRR, churn and CAC yourself.

  1. What SaaS really means, and how it differs from software sold once or a services company.

  2. How to choose a pricing model, subscription, usage-based or tiers, and split packages a customer understands.

  3. How to calculate MRR, ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, gross margin and payback, and what each number tells you.

  4. How to check that the problem you are solving exists, and find your first paying customers before you build.

  5. How to define the MVP: what to build now and what to leave for later.

  6. How to draw a sales funnel that works in Egypt and the region, from the first lead to the customer paying.

  7. How to build an AI SaaS and price the AI features without losing money on every customer.

  8. How a SaaS company is organised inside, which stage you are at, and what your next step is.

Four sessions, eight modules

Two modules a session, two hours a session, from the idea to an AI SaaS.

  1. Session 1 · Friday 6 November

    • Module 1

      What SaaS really is

What SaaS means, and why software is not SaaS just because it runs in the browser.

    • Module 2

      How SaaS makes money

Packages and pricing models, and how the choice shapes the business.

  2. Session 2 · Saturday 7 November

    • Module 3

      The numbers that matter

MRR, ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, gross margin and payback, calculated by hand.

    • Module 4

Finding a real problem and customer

Checking that someone will pay before you build, and finding the first ones.

  3. Session 3 · Friday 13 November

    • Module 5

      Building the product

The MVP: what to build now and what to leave for later.

    • Module 6

      Getting customers in MENA

A sales funnel that works in Egypt and the region.

  4. Session 4 · Saturday 14 November

    • Module 7

      Building AI SaaS

Pricing AI features so the cost of the AI does not eat your margin.

    • Module 8

      Inside a SaaS company

How the company divides inside, which stage you are at, and what comes next.

What you need to bring

  • You do not need to write code.
  • You do not need a background in business or finance. We calculate every number together.
  • A laptop and a good connection to join on Google Meet and take part.
  • Basic English, because the explanation is in Egyptian Arabic but the terms and slides are in English.
  • If you have an idea or a problem you see in the market, bring it. We apply the lessons to it as we go. It is not required.

Who teaches it

I am Mohamed Elsherif. I have spent more than fifteen years in SaaS in the Arab world. I was COO and Head of Insights at Crowd Analyzer and Extend, and today I help SaaS companies move from one stage to the next. From working with many founders, I have watched the same mistake repeat: someone with a good idea spends months building a product, then finds nobody is ready to pay, or that the price does not cover the cost, or that customers leave as fast as they arrive. Usually nobody told them at the start how the business works. This course is that conversation.

Questions before you book

Do I need to know how to code?
Not at all. The course is about the business of SaaS, not about code.
What language is it taught in?
Egyptian Arabic. The terms and the slides are in English, as you will hear them at work.
When and where?
Live on Google Meet, Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November, then Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November, from 9 to 11 pm Cairo time.
What if I attend and it is not for me?
After the first session, if the course is not what you expected, your money is returned in full.
Is there a certificate?
Yes, a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
How much is it?
3,000 EGP. SaaS Majlis members pay 2,000 EGP at any time. The early bird has closed.

What participants say

From participants in the MENA SaaS Foundation Masterclass, in their own words and their own language.

  • What I gained from this course goes beyond information. I acquired new skills, joined a lifelong community, and had the opportunity to engage in meaningful and open business discussions.

    Shahd Mohamed

  • The course was very insightful and changed my perspective about a lot of aspects when it comes to validation and founder–market fit. The Coach prompts are amazing to help you and challenge you to refine the idea and the statements needed to make things straight.

    Omar Youssef

  • Don’t be over optimistic about your idea, it might just be more of a burden than an actual money maker! Mr. Mohamed will challenge your idea for you, but you’ll have to defend it yourself! If you really want to go to the founders circle and live that messy life, FIGHT. Thanks Mr. Mohamed Elsherif for providing me with the knowledge, tools, awareness and POWER to move on.

    Mohamed Ali

  • ممتنة لك بحجم السماء يا محمد الشريف، وكم خبراتك المميزة التي استفدنا منها على مدار الكورس.
